Domain behaviour

How each SDTM domain behaves in the published COSMoS content: how Biomedical Concepts fan out into Dataset Specializations, and which variables make the difference.

One schema serves every COSMoS domain, but the relationship between a Biomedical Concept (BC) and its Dataset Specializations (DSSs) behaves differently from domain to domain. This page re-derives that behaviour from each COSMoS release. An axis is a variable whose value differs between the DSSs of one BC: specimen, method, binding agent, test detail, location, category, evaluator. An axis is counted when the assigned value differs; where only the value list differs, it is shown in a separate column. Scale is read from units: some DSSs of the BC carry units, others do not.

The page reports; it does not decide. Which domains each Findings consumer covers is recorded in SDTM_Domain_Metadata.xlsx, and the reasons for leaving a domain out are stated there as claims. The first table tests those claims against this release.
